Adrian Pasdar, Greg Grunberg and James Denton donned their musical hats to fundraise at the "Heroes for Autism" event at LA’s club Avalon on April 19.
The actors, who moonlight as The Band From TV, rattled off hits including "Viva Las Vegas," "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" and "Pink Cadillac." Band regulars Grunberg, Denton and former
Bachelor Bob Guiney were joined by Pasdar, who sat in on guitar and even attempted to sing one song, "It Comes to Me Naturally," though he warned that his "tonsils might backfire."
The Office’s Rainn Wilson, who also emceed the event, delivered a "slow and weird" version of Tommy Tutone's "867-5309" that turned the rock 'n' roll favorite into a disturbing stalker anthem. "I'm going to get everyone depressed and suicidal," he promised.
Even
Heroes’ Cristine Rose (Mrs. Petrelli) got on stage to dance, but her TV son Milo Ventimiglia couldn't be persuaded. "You don't want to see that," he laughed. But Ventimiglia did contribute to the good cause—some of his photographs were among the art pieces for sale in a silent auction. "It's a series called 'The Conversation,' six pieces all in one,” he explained. “Adrian Pasdar and I had a conversation over coffee, sitting at a table, and I just photographed it. I sent it to the curator, and he said, 'These are amazing, they kind of tell a story.'" The opening bid on the series: $500.
Ventimiglia says he often takes photos on the set, but that no one ever sees them except for his subjects. "I'm sure at some point, I will show them, maybe at a collector's show. But
Heroes isn't done yet, so that project isn't done yet."
