NBC’s new family drama,
Parenthood, has been pulled from the fall schedule due to an undisclosed medical crisis involving Maura Tierney. The ER vet plays a harried single mom named Sarah on the series that also stars Peter Krause, Craig T. Nelson, Dax Shepard, Bonnie Bedlia, Monica Pottter and Erika Christensen.
“Start of production on NBC Universal’s new series
Parenthood has been postponed for eight weeks due to medical evaluation that valued cast member Maura Tierney is undergoing," read a statement released by NBC. "The top priority for NBC, Universal Media Studios and Imagine Television is the well-being of Ms. Tierney. We are unable to release further details and ask that you respect her privacy at this time.”
The statement went on to say that new nursing drama
Mercy, starring Michelle Trachtenberg, will premiere in the fall in Parenthood’s place.
