Jesse Metcalfe Kisses and Tells!
by Carita Rizzo  September 18, 2009 10:09 AM EST

When Jesse Metcalfe returns to Desperate Housewives after four and a half years (which is nine and a half years in Wisteria Lane time) expect more than some innocent flirting between former gardener John Rowland and Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria Parker).

At the ALMA Awards, Metcalf inadvertently spilled the beans while describing an incident on set. “The last day that I worked, a funny moment was that we were about to have our one major kissing scene and we had just chowed down some serious Mexican,” he recalls. “We both had crazy onion/guacamole breath but we just went with it.”

Onion breath aside, Metcalfe tells TV Guide Magazine he thinks the romance between Gabby and John can always be rekindled, no matter how happy she seems in her marriage. “I think there’s always a possibility for that to transpire. It’s a flame that has been dying hard,” he says. His character, he tells us, has changed a lot in the years that have passed. “John Rowland is now like 27, 28, he’s a divorcé and he comes back with a little more money in his pocket. And a little extra swagger.”

For his two-episode guest stint, that starts airing the second week of October, Metcalfe will be involved in a love triangle with two people in the Solis household. “There’s a new little love triangle brewing, and Gabby’s niece is involved in said love triangle,” he says, but reassures us, “it’s not as lecherous as it might sound. You just have to tune in and see where it goes.”
