Grey's Casts Two For The Holidays
October 28, 2009 07:42 PM EST

Remember when I told you that Grey's Anatomy was casting the role of Miranda Bailey’s mother? Well, show creator Shonda Rhimes has changed her mind. Instead, she’s decided to introduce us to Miranda’s father, William Bailey, in the Nov. 19 episode. It will chronicle the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Eve holidays all in one episode. Frankie Faison, who played Commissioner Ervin H. Burrell on HBO’s The Wire, will pop in on his daughter Miranda (Chandra Wilson) to check in on how she’s doing, given all the recent changes in her life.

Meanwhile, blonde beauty Leven Rambin (All My Children, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) will join the show in the same episode to kick off a story arc as a woman from Mark Sloan’s (Eric Dane) past who complicates his romance with Lexie (Chyler Leigh). “They have something coming down the road that’s rather big,” Chyler tells me. “This trial will definitely show whether they have what it takes to weather the storms.”
