Big Love this year when the HBO polygamist drama’s fourth season kicks off January 10. Rather, third wife Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin) will just be channeling the beloved Mormon, as Margene’s career as a TV shopping channel pitchwoman takes off and plunges her into the spotlight.
While Marie’s known for selling her popular line of porcelain collector dolls on QVC, Margene becomes “the face of a jewelry line she helps create,” says Ginnifer. “She’s going to relish her role as the queen of jewelry hocking in this land of VSN.”
As for her self-described “QVC ‘do,”, which looks reminiscent of how Marie styled her sleek, conservative hair back on her and brother Donny’s 70’s variety show, Ginnifer says there were multiple sources of inspiration – including Meg Ryan’s look in the early 90’s. “I did quite a bit of research on QVC’s beautiful blow-outs, and did watch my fair share of Marie’s time on QVC,” says Ginnifer, who won’t say whether or not she’s sporting a wig. “Let’s just say it’s ‘movie magic’. I honestly believe that the audience starts looking too hard when they know something’s fake, so I like to help save the audience from that distraction.”
Hmmm… sure sounds like a wig to me!
