Ask Keck: Your Housewives Questions Answered!
By William Keck  November 05, 2009 08:40 AM EST

Where is Lynette and Tom’s other twin son, Parker, this season? - Kelly
Executive producer Bob Daily reminds us that the series established last season that the character had left for Europe to go backpacking. “Honestly, we were feeling there were too many characters on the show,” says Daily. “But I think he’ll (eventually) be coming back.”

How is Kathyrn Joosten (Karen McCluskey) doing? - Steven
The actress underwent surgery for lung cancer on Oct. 5 and Housewives executive producer Bob Daily tells me “she came through her surgery with flying colors and is now begging us to get her back in the show.” Look for her to return at the neighborhood Christmas party. Producers are considering writing in her real-life battle. “Kathryn is very keen on us doing a lung cancer story. She’s very active in lung cancer charities so is pushing for this, and we’re seeing if we can find a way to do it.”

When will we find out who strangled Julie? - Lana
Not until the end of the season. Andrea Bowen (Julie) tells me, “even the person who did it doesn’t even know. Marc Cherry made an announcement after he screened the first episode at his house. He said, ‘The greatest thing about this year’s mystery is the person who did it is in this room and has no idea, so he’s keeping it under lock and key. Everyone was there – the entire cast. Even guest stars from future episodes.” But one significant person was absent – James Denton, so we can rule out him. If Andrea had to guess, she's point her finger at Drea DeMatteo’s secretive new housewife, Angie Bolen. Lending support to this theory will be future flashback scenes that reveal how Julie and Nick met and began their forbidden affair. “There is a scene where I don’t have a shirt on, but fortunately it was shot from the back.”

Are Bob and Lee going to adopt that Asian baby you teased about in your column? - Raymond
I hear Modern Family’s success has put the skids on this planned storyline on ABC’s Desperate Housewives. Housewives creator Marc Cherry had planned for the past two years to give his gay couple an Asian baby, but now Cherry’s scrapping the idea since MF’s Cameron and Mitchell just adopted a Vietnamese child. “Well,” shrugs actor Eric Stonestreet (Cameron). “There’s all kinds of babies that need to be adopted. Maybe those Housewives guys can adopt a baby from Russia!”
