Mad Men's Not So Lame Duck
by Ingela Ratledge  September 28, 2009 10:21 AM EST

Was it wild to see Mad Men’s Duck turn into Don Juan?

Of all the WTF moments on last night’s episode—and there were a few, including Betty’s fainting couch and Don’s bloodied face—the one that’s still haunting us this morning is the shocking transformation of Duck from manipulative milquetoast to sexual predator. At first, it appeared the ad man would use his meeting with Peggy at the Pierre to woo her away from Sterling Cooper—but he ended up just wooing her, period, gruffly offering to tear off her clothes with his teeth and give her the best go-around she’s ever had. (Considering her past conquests—Pete, we’re talking to you—that might not be saying much, but still.) Once he'd coaxed her into the sack, the amorous recovering boozehound declared, “I love the taste of alcohol on your breath!” And you can forget about any a.m. awkwardness for this seasoned lothario—as Duck told Peggy before they started the fun all over again, “I love the mornings.” It’s always the quiet ones, apparently!
