Oprah, Lost and Chuck Rock the Twitterverse
by Damian Holbrook  November 20, 2009 01:34 PM EST

It was like the perfect storm for TV fans when a wave of breaking news swept the Internet and sent folks all a’Twitter. First was ABC’s long-awaited announcement that Lost would kick off its sixth and final season on Tuesday, February 2nd at 8pm/7c with an hour-long recap, followed by a two-hour premiere. Just as we were all Tweeting our concerns that Jack and company would be finishing their run on yet another new night and time (they settle in at 9/8c on the 9th)—opposite Idol, no less—NBC finally did something right and revealed that beloved spy dramedy Chuck would be brought out of mothballs earlier than its projected March return on Sunday, January 10th with two episodes before moving back to its regular time slot, Mondays at 8/7c on the 11th. Then finally, before the Chuck Tweets of joys had barely died down, Oprah Winfrey declared the September 9th, 2011 end-date for talk-show. Between these three biggies, and the buzz they created online, it’s amazing the Internet was able to keep up with all of the cheerful and, in O’s case, tearful comments.
